teenage foster youth

Somewhere to belong

He loves skateboarding, swimming, video games and snacks. And if you're up for it, he'd LOVE an emotional support animal?!

Like many teens in foster care, he's experienced some hardships and will act out when he's triggered. He can be kind, charming and quite funny. He feels let down by many of the adults in his life so honesty and transparency is very important to him. Caregivers will need to earn his trust, be extremely patient and able maintain an even keel when he's getting triggered. If you've got experience with trauma-informed care, you're an ideal choice. He's working on regulating his emotions and impulse control.

Feeling that he belongs in a family will be critical to his success. He responds well to structure, rewards and being valued.
