The "tween" years are so critical to a young person's growth. When they have the chance to grow in a loving, supportive home, they are given an opportunity to thrive. There are youth in your community who may be working through some trauma or other challenges and need caring adults to step into their lives. 

When you become a foster parent you receive training, financial resources and on-going support for both you and the youth.
